See, I got hit with the movement glitch but was able to fix it by looking down and it reoriented itself. Aside from that, loved the atmosphere of this game.
I think this might be my favorite protoype ever played, simply because you know how to handle atmosphere and "something never before seen" so incredibly well. :)
The gun mechanic is INCREDIBLY immersive, although a bit nauseating after a while. A few tweaks to the gun movement, and I can tell I wouldn't get motion sick in the same way.
I played both Wrong Floor and From the Darkness, and now this one...
I LOVED Wrong Floor because it stayed close to "realism horror", which felt much more relatable. :) "What if you were trapped in the basement with a maniac". Really cool short game!
I immediately bought From the Darkness on Steam, when I realized Wrong Floor had been taken further into a full game. I was a bit disappointed though... :/ Still a great game, but MUCH more supernatural than Wrong Floor, which broke the immersion quite a bit. Had hoped for "realism horror" again.
My point here is to say that I love the concepts that you are throwing out. They are absolutely unique, creative, and MILES above other horror titles out there. I just really hope they stay on the more "relatable realism" side of things, since I wholeheartedly believe that makes for a more terrifying experience. :)
Honestly this is great finally a actually tense horror game. It's been awhile since a game left me lost for words while I was playing it. I didn't even finish it. I made me take my headphones off at the end. I try to give a pros and cons list when I comment back on games but you blow this one out of the park I will be back to finish it mark my words. Keep it up.
Just looked at some of your other games I actually played 9 child street and wrong floor. Both two very good I particularly like wrong floor this game is a really nice next step.
This is absolutely amazing. I really like this idea. I have no doubts that this is inspired by Unrecorded. And I can't wait for more games such as this one. I really hope a full version of this game will be released because the atmosphere is really well done!
As everyone has also said, I agree this is a really cool and unique style of game which the Horror Genre really needs. New ideas liek this is what keeps the genre alive so thank you for that. Fun clip of a short taste of the demo.
I love it. Whether you made these textures and animations yourself or not, I really enjoyed playing this. The atmosphere is really good, the visuals are great, and the ending was mind-blowing :) Keep it up!
this was the scariest game ive ever played. i litterally had to pause the game cause my face and part of my body got numb. my respect. video is coming soon but i had to comment right now. i cant play anymore games for awhile. gg
Atmospherically, this is absolutely great again. The jumpscares were right again, only N4bA can do that. I also think it's great that something new is being tried out here with the shotter aspect.
But in my opinion, the mechanics still need a lot of work. The character staggers like after 5 bottles of vodka, which makes it really hard to aim properly. This is made even more difficult by the limited FOV. In addition, you don't have any aiming points, laser pointers or crosshairs. After each shot, the character pulls the gun up so high that the second shot goes into the ceiling.
I understand the intention behind it, to keep the game as realistic as possible, but from a purely gameplay technical point of view, it doesn't really work for me.
I also think the game is called prototype because it is a kind of technical demo in which the developer simply tries something new. But the whole thing is really good and I hope they perfect it and bring out a really cool game in the style of Condemned.
Another thing to note is that the game lags annoyingly and crashed once when I went down to the basement.
I'm very curious to see what will become of the whole thing. N4bA is and remains the best developer studio for horror games at the moment.
Terrifying with solid shooting mechanics. The frame rate was a bit of an issue, I found myself missing some jump scares and missing shots even on the low setting. The flickering when you encounter an enemy made it hard to gauge where I was at times. Overall excellent experience.
