Awesome game but u h I feel like the loud screaming approach to jumpscare or just e a r r a p e audio jumpscares in general are kinda cheap shots, very good prototype though so far, just try some new ideas for jumpscares! it was awesome though so don't take this as just bad news!
i fully agree w what you’re saying aswell. it just seems….idunno…, like a joke almost? it’s “scary” because it’s loud. but if we can figurenn n out a way to hve some kind of …guttural, raspy [but loud], i’m-coming-straight-for-you kind of YELL- as opposed to a scream if that makes sense- i think the enemy would be scarier. just like loud =/= funny, it doesn’t equal genuine scare, either, imo.
It looks amazing, and like every game I've played of your's is absolutely terrifying, even in this prototype state. The only complaint I have is that the fisheye effect causes some nausea to me atleast.
Visuals, sound design, atmosphere, absolutely on point. I didn't know you could pull this off with Unity. But for the love of God, give me an option to turn down the enemy screams without making the remaining game silent. When I died and the game said "Retry" I had no idea what button to press and accidentally started a new game when I randomly clicked, so I only played it until the 2nd enemy encounter.
what game engine did you developed this in? I am inclining toward UE 5 due to photorealistic materials. I want to know if I am right. It is scary af, ngl.
Good job on this one N4bA! Definitely one of the scariest indie horror game I've played this year! Can't wait for the full release (if you plan to make one) and this is gonna be a big game forsure!
This game has a lot of potential, gives me cry of fear/total chaos vibes, which are one of my top favorite horror games.
I like the lack of an HUD, but some way of telling the player how much ammo left would be nice, like holding R button to show how many bullets are left, or some kind of backpack/pockets system where you can look and see what items you have left.
Some lights just didnt make sense(floating red lights) , but that can be explained by it being a prototype.
The atmosphere is really well done, but i hope the game wont rely on jumpscares that much, if it will ever be completed.
When I start to play, my character automatically looks up, without me doing anything. I can't get that away. I can't look anywhere, because it locks me looking up.
Great mechanics and the style is stunning, but the spawning of the enemies was always unfair, and I think adding depth to the combat could be cool. If a pistol can cut peoples' heads in half, maybe a shotgun could blow off other limbs. Maybe the pistol needs headshots to kill, but other weapons are more effective at different parts of the body. Or some kinda system for both the enemies and the weapons would be awesome. I also can't say I liked the strobing effect when enemies come near, it just always felt like false difficulty. I understand the accuracy getting shakey because my character is scared, that was awesome, but I don't know, I think the way in which you aim in this game adds enough difficulty. Like first I gotta find where their head is bc my screen's black, then I gotta correct for my shakey aim, and if I do hit, I've hit after 4 shots and I have to run away anyway, which wouldn't be an issue if those little enemies that scream at you weren't so fast, but most the enemies just have totally unfair speeds for them to all be 1 hit kills.
Loved the level design, loved the lighting, loved the overall style. Hated how loud the game was, disliked the enemy's and the combat's current design.
Bro, ive been waiting for this game FOREVER. Graphics 10/10, Shooting 10/10, and just over all just an amazing game for how little we actually know about it. Cant wait to see it grow to a full game.
This game was so creepy and scary! It definitely game me chills all throughout my playthrough. I wasn't able to get to the ending (I just suck) but I might try again to see the ending. The atmosphere and ambience made me feel every sense of dread. The enemies were a bit loud and getting one shotted kinda sucks but overall this is amazing! Can't wait to see where this goes from here. Great Job!
This is going to come off as harsh, and I don't mean to discourage you or anything, and I don't want you to think that I hated the game or anything, but I had a few issues with this game, and I really don't know if this was due to me or just the way the game is designed.
I am perfectly willing to concede that I might just suck at the game, but there are THREE major issues I found with the game that hold it back from greatness. I understand this is still a demo, but I hope you can take these issues I have and try to fix them.
My first and easily the biggest grip I have is the flashing flashlight when the Giants show up. I'm sorry, but this has to go. This is not fair, this not fun, this honestly takes me out of the game because it makes the fights not scary, but unfair. If I cannot see the enemy, how can I kill him? Now on it's own this isn't a huge issue, but that brings me to my next point:
The weapons sway is RIDICULOUS. I cannot hit anything unless it's right in front of me. I understand this is supposed to be realistic, but I personally could hold a pistol much more steady than this guy. I'm saying it needs to be Rainbow Six Siege levels of steady, but I legit cannot figure out of this aiming works. Combined with the recoil, when I miss a shot it doesn't feel like it's "my fault", it feels like it's the games fault. Now I'm fine with the recoil. And I'm fine with the weapons sway. But I don't think it works well together. Again, I could just be bad at the game, so maybe this is just a terrible take on my part. But it all ends with my final major grip with the game.
All of these issues can be passed off, but with these issues alongside the enemy health, I feel like this is just super unfair. With the weapon sway and recoil, it is super difficult to tell if I am in fact hitting my target. And with the flickering lights, it really does make it hard to tell if I hit the guy, or if I missed, or if I hit the guy but I actually just took a few points of his health. It is really hard to tell. Again, I could just be bad at the game, but I do want to bring these up in case this is in fact something that others have pointed out (and after watching a few videos I do think it isn't fully just me.)
I know this is long, and it might sound mean, but I do mean it, there is a TON of potential here! The sound effects are amazing! The game looks BEAUTIFUL! The monsters are TERRIFYING. I was really tense and scared while playing this at first. The jumpscares got me, my first encounter with an enemy really freaked me out. I LOVED that. But then the issues showed themselves after that.
As I say in my video, I would pay for a full game like this, but with these issues, it really does hold it back, to me at least. And if you want help, while I don't really know Unity all to well, I can help with game design, sound, story, voice acting, or something else. I'm a developer too, and I understand that sometimes we get tunnel vision with our stuff, I won't deny my stuff has issues, so I hope that what I'm saying, while a lot of it is negative, does help you make what could become one of the BEST indie horror games at least of the year, maybe EVER.
(google translate) it's a horror game first and foremost, and I wanted it to be difficult for the player to play and shoot, to create panic and stress in moments of combat. It also all depends on whether you shoot slowly or quickly, you can shoot quickly at close range, but in the distance, due to recoil, it is better to shoot slowly. Movement is also very important, you can not let yourself be driven into a corner. I like screen flashing, and it should just complicate the game and not give less control of the situation to the player, but many people say that it is not very good, so I don’t even know. It all depends on the player, you can kill opponents very easily if you get used to it.
Literally the best horror game ive seen on this app, the ending was traumatizing, gameplay was pretty smoothe, and i cant wait to see what else you do with this game! easy 9/10

this is good old unity
Immersive and those amazing jumpscares really got me. Great short horror experience!
Runs fine at 1080p, but not too great at 2k on a 3090. Overall great demo.
This horror game definitely deserves a full version! 😭😭 Good job once again dev 😁
I DONT KNOW WHATS WORSE..? Walking Through a creepy ass hallway or the fact that i shit myself..
This has potential!

most likely you have a gamepad connected, or something similar, you need to disable it
Incroyable comme toujours!
Un futur maitre de l'ambiance horreur
J adore ses jeux creepy a souhait
my heart..
big group game developers take for ever make horror game
Graphic: average
result: shit
story: shit
Gameplay: average
One man:
Graphic: master piece
Story: Idk
gameplay: Very nice experience
but time... prob a lot faster
That means you've either only played like 3 games in those 12 years or I'm just dead inside. To me this game was average.
Welcome to the internet. Hope you enjoy your stay.
Congrats!!
great game!
thank you!
how do u start playin?
Main feedback;
- Enemy screams too loud
- Music stopping when picking up an item is a bit immersion breaking
- FOV changes when you move are a bit disorientating at times. Can understand it when running, but not walking.
I did a playthough video and did a mention - excellent work, great concepts;
wgat are the minimum req?
idk, gtx 1060, or maybe 1050ti can 30fps
damn
Great mechanics and the realism just makes this game terrifying! Very well done

THIS HAS TO BE THE SCARIEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED! I NEVER SCREAMED SO MUCH! LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!
10/10

Uncomfortably Realistic Demo Gameplay (NO Commentary)

Headshots are the key, once i stopped aiming it was smooth sailing.
I have tried headshots. But I cannot tell if they're hitting half the time, and many times I'm just breaking the enemy mask

Here's my thoughts: tone down the weapon sway JUST a little bit, and have an option for the flashing light in the menu.
